Now the dust has settled its time for a roll call of thanks to the many people and groups of Wycombe who got together to prove that we need St John's as a our Centre for the Arts and Creativity. With nearly 300 people attending over two days we can safely say that the people are starting to realise the potential this venue can bring to our lives.

Firstly a big thank you from Arts4Every1 to everyone who helped and voluntered to make the event go so well.

An especially big thank you to Patricia Lynch and Barbara Pearman for organising the Artist Exhibition. Everybody commented that the artwork was a great standard and showed that Wycombe and District is brimming with creative visual talent. Many thanks to the following artists who exhibited at the showcase and also voluntered to to help throughout the exhibition: Patricia Lynch, Barbara Pearman, Isabel Fallow, Liz Meier, Tim Baynes, Lynda Cornwall, Martin Tanton, Babatunde Ogunekun, Yemi Ogunekun, Katarina Nyman, Frankie White, Carol Mencel, Mitzie Green, Jackie Hughes, Peter Voisey, Bob Spriggs, Vickie Covacic, Gail Crichton, Bob Spriggs, Shauna Fosker, Syed Asghar, Veronika Kotvics, Heather Atkinson, Maureen Carolan-Dalton.

A big thanks to Richard Condon whose engergy and dedication to making things happen was the bedrock of the whole event. From putting up the boards, to taking them down and working the refreshments bar in between (over both days) Richard's effort was brilliant, many thanks.

Many thanks to Jackie Crabtree from Arts4Every1, who shopped, banked and helped facilitate whilst also running her own table-top display.

Many thanks to Giles and Leanne from RC Staging for supplying the boards for the Exhibition. The transformation the boards made to the venue was incredible and perfectly showed what an asset the Church will be to the community when it is converted.

The boards and the artwork looked great in large part because of the excellent lighting supplied by Ruth Gunstone from Bucks New University. Many thanks too to Richard Pollock who brought the lighting down and was there through out the whole event helping as well as exhibiting his brilliant stained glass lamps and works

On the performance side many thanks to Jed Hoile for stage managing both evenings so efficiently. The concerts showed what depth and breadth of talent there is in the area. Most importantly it showed what committment there is from the performers that they gave there time and talent FREE to the cause.

Many thanks to the artists that performed and gave their time and talent so graciously:

Street Dreams Choir - Many thanks to Jay and Jade from Street Dreams. Your work for youth and community is incredible and the performance of the choir with just one song shows what great potential they have.

Vitae Drummers The group goes from strength to strength performing with such passion, fun and precision and had the audience dancing in the aisles.

Sign Dance Collective Wycombe's own professional dance/disability group put on a compelling version of their work Travelling. Looking completely at home in the setting of St John's the ambience of the Church added considerably to the visuality of the performance. Saturday's performance of Words was another triumph

Bucks New University A discrete and amusing performance was put on by the drama students of BNU. Led by Roberto Sanchez-Camus the performers included, workman, journalist, photographer and tour guide.

Ailsa Harrison Two songs expertly peformed, Ailsa's passion for flamenco was communicated to the audience. Please contact Ailsa on the network if you would like to join her.

Alex Ward Band A musician of the Sign Dance Collective, Alex's distinctive and powerful guitar and vocal style made a considerable impact and proved what a considerable talent he is.

Shed@The Park Performing a selection of original songs and covers this young adult group hit the stage with a passion and vibrancy that captivated the audience.

WYSPAS Looking exquisite in evening dress the group performed a classy showcase of songs from Musicals. Talented in chorus and solo performance the group demonstrated professional level skills and entertainment.

Justine Hart Leader of Vitae Drummers Justine showed her other considerable talent as a singer and songwriter. This was a very engaging performance with beautiful guitar work and a mesmorising vocal style.

Drumojo The local band played a selection of latin and funky numbers culminating in Jingo Lo Ba with excellent contributions from the audience on percussion

Many thanks to the people and community groups who took table tops including: Wycombe District Council, Bucks County Council, Bucks New University, Wycombe Savoy Opera Company, artSmart, Chununga Tree, Jackie Crabtree, Chiltern Arts Forum, Sign Dance Collective

And finally the team at St John's including Karen Brown, Stephen Whitmore and especially Mike the Verger who was there opening and closing for us every day from Wednesday through to Monday. Thanks Mike.

Many thanks also to Saul Pope, Pete Pearman, Richard Pollock, Jed Hoile, Bob Spriggs, Richard Condon, Tim Baynes for breaking down the exhibition on Sunday

Although the Showcase was a big undertaking, given that we decided on the 18th September to do it it proved without doubt the following
1. The venue has great potential for many creative and artistic endeavours
2. The ambience and atmosphere is conducive to the arts and creativity
3. The creative people and groups of Wycombe need St John's as a place to show and perform their work
4. The location is ideally close to the centre of Wycombe
5. The artists and performers who took part are the foundation of exciting new momentum towards the realisation of the Centre
6. With a proper infrastructure in place the Centre will easily become part of the fabric of the lives of many people, groups and communities in Wycombe
7. The Centre has the capability to be the focal point for the emergence of Wycombe as a destination for the Arts and Creativity
8. The creative people of Wycombe have demonstrated their capability to volunteer and work for the common good when they can see how it will benefit them personally and their communities
9. More work needs to be done to spread the word but given Arts4Every1's limited funding and bandwidth great strides were made
10. Everyone wants to know what happens next?

Arts4Every1 will be holding a meeting in the January where people interested in joining us and moving the project forward will be invited to attend.

Hello Mike

Your list of acknowledgements and thanks only goes to show what a great community effort the St John's showcase was. I think it was quite remarkable that an event like that was pulled together in record time and so many people gave their time and energy unstintingly to make it happen - really though - you also deserve a big thanks too for being so committed to the cause and pulling it all together in the first place - it was your vision that sparked the whole thing off in the first place - so a big thank you for that vision.

I was so pleased that the art exhibition looked so good, especially on Giles' wonderful boards - and again thanks to all participating artists whose work contributed to such an exciting show. I thought the performances in the evenings were absolutely superb - such talent and such an exciting mix of music and drama, it made us feel lucky to part of the whole thing.

Patricia and Richard.

PS Just on the list of artists a few important additions please: Lynda Cornwall, Yemi Ogunekun, Mrs Veronika Kotvics, Heather Atkinson, Maureen Carolan-Dalton and Wendy Fowler - and just a couple where spelling not quite right Shauna Fosker not Foster and Syed Asghar not Asgar. Laura Lenander wasn't able to participate in the end. Hope that helps.
