The people of Wycombe are invited to a FREE Arts and Community Showcase event at St John's Church, Desborough Rd on both Friday 5th or Saturday 6th December.

Promoted by Arts4Every1, Wycombe's community arts network, the purpose of the event is to showcase the potential for St John’s Church as a location for Wycombe’s own Centre for the Arts and Creativity. Wycombe District Council are going through the process of acquiring St John’s and Arts4Every1 have been instrumental in providing ideas and community feedback on the project.

The showcase features a wide range of creative talents and community services thriving in Wycombe District and includes:

An Art and Craft Exhibition featuring 25 local artists and nearly 200 peices of work, some making ideal Christmas gifts. The exhibition opens from 10am each day.

A Community Showcase featuring table top presentations from many local service providers and community groups including Wycombe District Council, Bucks County Council, Bucks New University and many more. The showcase opens from 10am each day.

Two FREE Evening Concerts starting at 7pm each evening. The concerts feature songs from musicals from WYSPAS, a performance from the Street Dreams Youth Choir, African Drumming from Vitae Drummers, BNU Drama Students, performances from Sign Dance Collective, The Shed Theatre Company, local band Drumojo and much more

With a good attendance from the people of Wycombe, Arts4Every1 will be able to demonstrate what an ideal venue St John's could be and as St John's is only two minutes walk from Eden it will be a perfect place to participate in and enjoy local cultural life in the future.

Mike - where is the floor plan - I've looked all over for it but can't find - you have it mentioned at some point and you tell people to look below but no link to it!

Yes I agree - we will need to rally the troups - do you mean a face to face meeting down at Com Sq - could that be a daytime meeting because some people travel in from the Oxford area and would be difficult for them to come in again in the evening - shall we talk first on phone - I could ring you on the number on this site? All sounds very exciting - if I can help in anyway let me know.
